Use Sentry Mode & Dashcam
Yeah, your car has cameras. Lots of them. Sentry Mode and Dashcam put them to work so you’re not left gesturing at the parking lot security camera that was “under maintenance.”
Sentry Mode
Controls → Safety & Security → Sentry Mode. When you’re gone and the car’s locked, it records if something moves or touches the car. You can exclude home and work so it’s not recording your own driveway 24/7.
Dashcam
Plug in a USB drive (front port), and the car keeps a rolling buffer of the road. When something dumb happens—someone cuts you off, you see a meteor, whatever—tap the camera icon (or hold it) and it saves the last few minutes. No “I wish I had that on camera” regrets.
Pro moves
- Use a high-endurance microSD or USB (64GB+). Cheap sticks die fast with constant writes.
- Format in the car: Controls → Safety → Format USB. Let the car do it; don’t fight it.
- Controls → Safety → Dashcam to make sure it’s on and the drive is recognized. If it’s not, the car will tell you.
