Charging at Home

Charging to 100% every night is like revving an ICE car in the garage—unnecessary and a bit rough on the hardware. The car’s fine with less.

Charge limit
Controls → Charging → Set limit. Bump it to 80% for everyday. Crank it to 90–100% when you’re actually going somewhere far. Your future self (and the battery) will appreciate it.

Scheduled charging
If your utility hates you less at 2 a.m., use Departure or Off-Peak so the car finishes charging right before you leave. No need to sit at 100% all night—that’s not doing the pack any favors.

Mobile connector
The one that came in the frunk (or that you bought) does standard outlets (slow but fine overnight) or a NEMA 14-50 for way faster Level 2. No gas station required. Ever.
